XO Cafe Staff (Chicago)

Join the XO team! Our cafe is looking for energetic employees who exemplify the brand, have a can-do attitude, and have a passion for making s’mores. 

As an XO Cafe Staffer, You Will:

Be the first engagement a customer has with our brand.Support our production team by packaging product, preparing orders, and setting the online team up for success.Handle retail merchandise, including stocking shelves, receiving orders, and ensuring the retail areas are in pristine condition.Prepare a variety of food and beverage items, including s’mores, frozen and hot cafe drinks, and seasonal specialty items. Uphold food safety protocols as set by the state and local government agencies.Provide exemplary customer service at all times.

Job & Education Requirements:

At least 1 Year food service experience, cafe preferredMust have ability to work Days, Nights, and WeekendsEstablished understanding of food safety standardsAbility to work in busy, fast-paced environmentAble to lift 50lbs, and stand for 8hoursDemonstrated excellent customer service experienceStable work historyHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Social Media Internship (Part-Time)

XO Marshmallow is the premiere gourmet marshmallow company in the United States, taking the nostalgia of toasted marshmallows on an open campfire and elevating them with innovative flavors and applications. Since 2015 we have been making marshmallows to sell online and in-person. In 2017 we opened the World’s First Marshmallow Cafe right here in Chicago, and have continued to grow to meet our customers’ demand for delicious treats. Position Overview: We are seeking a Social Media Intern to become an integral part of our XO Marshmallow team! You will help our marketing team create and analyze content -- all while growing our social platforms and learning new skills. This position works directly with one of our founders.

Responsibilities:

  • The Social Media Intern will play a key role in assisting our Marketing team at stores and in our corporate office creating content to optimize our social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter
  • We put a lot of focus on TikTok and video -- applicant should have a passion for creating video content
  • Work alongside our social team to create compelling content and assist with photoshoots
  • Create content to post on social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Brainstorm new strategies, campaign ideas, and content
  • Own all influencer excel documents and stay on top of deadlines for posting requirements
  • Assist with implementing plans to increase followers and awareness on social platforms
  • Stay current with food and social trends 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in-office part-time (both at our Skokie HQ and our Lincoln Park cafe) 
  • Must be familiar with all social media platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
  • Ability to create compelling video/photo content to post across all social platforms.
  • Must have a genuine passion for fashion and an eye for marketing and social media.
  • Be reliable. Show up on time. See the internship to completion.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and be accountable for your own work

  • Hourly Rate: $14.50-16/hour (or for unpaid college credit)
